WHAT'S THIS?

Having been immersed in memoir writing for many months, I decided to write a small poem every day for a year to keep my poetic hand in. I've posted them to Instagram and facebook as written – where, to my amazement, people love them – but on this blog they are sometimes subject to later rewriting.

The rom-com on Netflix


The rom-com on Netflix engages, yes –

but more than story, characters, dialogue,

I watch for the setting, all those views of Venice,


my love-at-first-sight city (I who dislike cities)

– back when I went there, and here onscreen, 

a sparkling city of water and bridges, of grace, of joy.
