WHAT'S THIS?

Having been immersed in memoir writing for many months, I decided to write a small poem every day for a year to keep my poetic hand in. I've posted them to Instagram and facebook as written – where, to my amazement, people love them – but on this blog they are sometimes subject to later rewriting.

Late night thunder ...

late night thunder

scarier than ghosts –

get to bed quick!

cradle of pillows

blankets like warm arms

Is it a haiku, with an addition to make it a renga? Or is it a tanka? All written by one person (me) so it must be a tanka – only they don't usually have a space before the last two lines. That makes it like a renga – only they are usually written by more than one person. Maybe it's all – or none – of the above?
